From the family behind Château de Beaucastel, this 60-40 blend of lush Grenache and aromatic, tense Syrah captures the best of both Rhône worlds. It boasts a 90-92-point score from Rhône expert Jeb Dunnuck, who said “readers shouldn’t miss [the Perrins] Vinsobres releases.”
Dark ruby, with crimson reflections at the rim. Gorgeous purity of fruit on the nose, with blackberry, red plum, candied raspberry, and detailed tones of violet, lavender, and licorice. It’s medium-plus in body, with good tension coming from the Syrah grown in this slightly cooler section of the Rhône. This wine shows why the Vinsobres AOP produces wines every bit as well as the more celebrated ones from Gigondas and Vacqueyras. Drink now–2030.
