Made in vanishingly small quantities, the Domaine de Piaugier Gigondas is a stunning Southern Rhône red that blows away the competition in the quality-for-price game.
A medium purple color in the glass. A ripe mix of black raspberry, plum, and wild strawberry fruit aromas hit first, followed closely by crushed stones, garrigue, cracked pepper, and baked-earth notes. Plenty of fruit attack on the palate, balanced by a stony firmness to the tannins, giving it structure.
