Domaine Perraud is one of the premier estates of southern Burgundy’s Mâconnais, where the esteemed grower family is famous for harvesting old-vine Chardonnay. But we got our hands on a tiny allocation of their limited-production, supremely elegant Pinot Noir, which hardly ever appears in the US. Oh, and that price!
A lively ruby-garnet core. Bright, aromatic, and vibrant, the nose shows wild strawberry and pomegranate accented by rose petals and damp forest floor. The mouthfeel is well-rounded, driven by red fruit tones with a bounty of fresh herbs and a cleansing acidity that leads to a long finish. Drink now–2028.
